What are Tithes and Offerings?
Why Give?
How do we Give?

What are Tithes and Offerings:

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops.”  Proverbs 3:9

The word tithe literally means tenth or 10%. A tithe is the first 10% of your income. An offering is anything you give above and beyond the 10%.

Why Give:

"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, and all who live in it, the world, and all who live in it.”  Psalm 24:1

We believe that we are stewards of God’s resources because He is the owner of all that we have. Throughout scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back a portion of what God has so generously provided. His word tells us that giving is an act of worship that should be done with an attitude of thanksgiving.

How Do We Give:

At Grace Church, we have several ways that you can give to God’s work through your tithes and offerings. You can give through the offering during the services, you can mail your tithe and offering to the church office, or you can give online either through an electronic check or through a debit or credit card. Used within the parameters for which they were originally created, debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people utilize them in place of checks or cash throughout the month, then pay off the balance in full. For these people, we offer the option of using a credit card. Grace Church strongly encourages those who have ongoing credit card debt not to exercise this option.

Malachi 3:10 says:“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, “says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”  This is the only place in scripture where God tells us to put Him to the test. In other words, He’s saying, “Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me.”
